OMG!!! I'm sorry if I am ruining this for anyone, but I WAS SO SAD WHEN RUE DIED!!! Katniss spent one day with her, but they were like, BEST FRIENDS!!!! :'( I really wish that Rue could have just lived one more day...I knew she couldn't win, but at least one more day would have been fine, right? Whatever...I'm just really upset about that.

Hi. I'm Ms. Lenz's sister; I hope it's okay to comment. I love the whole trilogy and cried several times throughout the books. But the first time was when Rue died. There's something so hopeful about her character - she's a lifeline for both Katniss and Peeta - and when she died it the futility and violence of the hunger games just really hit me.
ReplyDeleteI think the way she died was just horrible. It was so sudden, and I knew in the back of my mind that she had to die at some point, but I think she at least deserved to have a more dignifying death, if you know what I mean.
